iPhone users: If you're looking for a controller that makes it easy to play games on Xbox Cloud Gaming or Apple Arcade, consider getting the Backbone One controller, which is currently on sale as part of Prime Day 2022.
Backbone One iPhone Gaming controller
A game controller compatible with iPhones with iOS 13 or later installed on the device. An adapter is required if you are using an iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Normally, this controller sells for $99.99, but you can buy this controller for just $69.99. It's rare for this controller to go on a discount, so if for some reason you've been putting off getting one, now's a great time to take the plunge and make the purchase.
The Backbone One, released in late 2020, is compatible with iPhone 6S or newer iPhone models running iOS 13 or later. The controller connects to the device through the Lightning port on your iPhone. Backbone One also includes a 3.5mm audio jack and a Lightning port so you can charge your phone while playing.
However, if you own an iPhone 13 Pro or 13 Pro Max, it's important to note that you'll need to request an adapter for the controller as the device won't work without it out of the box due to the chunky camera bumps on the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max models. The adapter is free, but you have to pay shipping costs.
Alternatively, if you have access to a 3D printer, the company behind the controller has publicly made available a CAD file of the adapter. But it is important to note that the adapter provided by the company is of better quality compared to the 3D printed solution.
